Community Health Needs

Adhering to policy and encouraging collaboration is key to achieving set goals. For this reason, BRIGHT stakeholders are committed to supporting community projects and using the best approaches to solving problems in the Barren River Area. Here are some objectives from the BRIGHT's 2022-2025 Community Health Improvement Plan that focus on community health needs in the Barren River Area Development District (BRADD). 

WHAT?
Goal 7: Use a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach, both in internal policies and in external policy advocacy.

Goal 8: Support community projects and collaboration.

How?

Strategy 7.1: Through an embedded project, WKU Public Health students will provide biannual policy fact sheets/updates.

Strategy 8.1: We will provide a mini-grant opportunity, open to projects in our communities that target one of our priority health issues.
